We are pleased to announce the release of a new drag and drop interaction which is now available to all customers in gomo authoring. You can find out more about how the drag and drop assets works in our support video.

Project duplication – Translated screen titles

We have addressed an issue with the project duplication process where by a translated screen title in a multi-lingual course did not get duplicated correctly.

Enhancement to resource selection in editor

We have implemented a number of performance enhancements for the resource selector used in the gomo editor to improve the speed and performance of navigating large resource repositories.

Preview mode enhancement

We have improved the layout/display of the device type options available in the course preview feature.

Project publish clean up enhancement

We have made a number of updates to the publish process to remove any code associated with assets that may have been added during the build of a course but subequently removed prior to publish.

Question re-attempts in continuous scroll topics

We have addressed an issue where attempting to answer a question for a second time in a continuous scrolling by answering the question, scrolling to another page in the topic and then back to the question and answering again would cause odd behaviour with scrolling

Popup windows in accessibility mode

We have addressed an issue when a course is running in accessibility mode whereby when a navigation extra was launched (Help, resources or glossary) and then closed, the masking layer used behind the popup did not disappear and thus prevented users from navigating the main content area.

Scrollbar theme colours

We have addressed an issue whereby the webkit scrollbar colours were not being applied to the scrollbar in some of our core themes.

SCORM scores in non-assessment courses

We have updated our SCORM tracking functionality to address an issue whereby a course without assessment was returning a score value of 0%, when no assessment was used in the course. It now returns the value ‘undefined’.

gomo custom variable for topic score

We have updated the topic score custom variable to ensure it displays the correct score value when used and an assessment has been completed.

Task system topic screens

We have addressed an issue whereby in some circumstances, the review/tasks system did not always populate the list of screens that exist in a topic correctly.

Resource extra label XLIFF import

We have addressed an issue whereby if the label for the resources topic shown on the navigation bar in a course was updated via XLIFF it would not update correctly when the XLIFF file was imported.

Intro topic thumbnail

We have addressed an issue whereby if the intro topic contained a video on the first screen in the topic, our screenshot server failed to take a screenshot of the topic.

Deleted projects continue to display after deletion

We have addressed an issue whereby a deleted project was still visible in the project listing as a result of the project listing cache not getting updated correctly.

Sub-folder project listings

We have addressed an issue whereby viewing a project in a sub-folder and then navigating back to the sub-folder would show an incorrect list of projects.

Multi-language course transfer

We have addressed an issue whereby a course containing multiple languages did not transfer correctly when the project is transferred from one account to another.

Scale to fit option for theme background image

We have added in a new ‘scale to fit’ option in the theme settings to provide content authors with the ability to set background images to scale when viewed on different screen sizes and devices.  All core gomo themes have been updated to support this.

Editor save optimisation

We have enhanced the editor save process to ensure all content updates are saved correctly when using the default save option as well as the save option triggered when a content author previews when changes have not yet been saved.

Project list loading speed optimisation

We have enhanced the project loading list to improve the speed of loading when.

Language options in preview

Following the addition of the language options in preview in release 3.5.19, we have increased the load time allowance to accommodate slower connections.

Scrolling after full screen playback on smartphone and tablets

We have addressed an issue where scrolling a screen on smartphone or tablet would behave erratically after a full screen video had been viewed on some devices.

Video transcript HTML formatting

We have updated the video player asset to ensure HTML formatting characters are handled correctly when added to a video transcript.

IE11 jQuery update

We have updated the jQuery version as a result of inconsistent loading issues in Internet Explorer 11.

Subscreen scrolling

We have addressed an issue where a subscreen failed to load correctly if it was launched from another subscreen.

Duplicate project listings

We have addressed an issue where by navigating into a project and back into a folder would cause the project to appear twice in the project listings even though only one project exists.

Lectora Online 4.0 Update

Lectora Online 4.0 includes the following updates and fixes

New Features:

Seamless Play

The primary new feature of Lectora Online 4 is Seamless Play publishing. When the Publish for Seamless Play option is selected on the HTML Options tab during publishing, your title will smoothly flow from page to page, eliminating the screen wipe commonly associated with HTML pages. This is the new default option, and the biggest change in this release.

Automatic Playing of Media on Mobile Devices.

Audio and video will play automatically on smartphones and tablets.

Anchor the Position of an Object while Scrolling.

Specify whether the object will maintain its location on the page within the view, even when the view is scrolled.

Update the Character Pose from the Properties Ribbon.

If you’ve selected the wrong character, there is no need to delete it. You can now change the character or pose on the ribbon.

gomo release notes – version 3.5.18

Addition of target path support for external link actions

We have added in target path support for external links. When the ‘external link’ action is added (e.g. to a button or text link), content creators can now specify the desired HTML target path destination (e.g. _blank, _self, _parent, _top) to determine how the link should behave when gomo content is embedded in an iFrame.

iOS video handling limitations

Playback of video content within a single HTML application is limited by the operating system to 17 videos. If an attempt to load an 18th video is made, the video will fail to load. We have implemented a number of enhancements to our video player asset to overcome this.

Video player multi-language closed caption support

We have enhanced the video player asset to support multiple closed caption files (VTT) when used in a multi-lingual course. Content creators will now have the option to upload a vtt for each language configured in the course.

Hotspot hover over translation XLIFF export / import

We have enhanced the hotspot asset to support XLIFF export / import of alt text content (shown when a learner hovers on a hotspot) so that alt text content can be translated when used in a mult-lingual course.

Last activity time / inactivity monitor

To assist future development of custom assets / functionality in the gomo player, we have now added in a new variable to retrieve the last activity time of a user.

Continuous scroll topic load enhancement

We have implemented an update to that way in which continuous scroll topics are launched to ensure that all assets shown in the screen sequence are initiated correctly.

Select from List triggered by display condition on smartphones

We have addressed an issue where a select from list question asset was unresponsive on a smartphone if the visibility of the question had been triggered by a display condition.

localization xliff file update

We have addressed an issue relating to the localization xliff file was incorrectly setting the source and target path languages to the same value.

Multi-language course duplication

We have addressed an issue whereby in some scenarios when a multi-language course is duplicated, updates in the duplicated course to the default / base language were not always saved correctly.

Video transcript button

We have addressed an issue whereby the video transcript button would not always display the transcript content when accessed via some smartphone devices.
